Community Service
01
As a volunteer coach for the national nonprofit organization, Girls on the Run, I get to teach an evidence based curriculum that inspires girls to build confidence and other important life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and physical activity.
02
The mission of Medicine in Motion, a national nonprofit for medical students and healthcare providers, is to address medical burnout through fitness, philanthropy, and interdisciplinary community building. In my role as UWSOM chapter lead, I work with my team to coordinate athletic fundraisers and anti-burnout campaigns.
03
Volunteering as a crisis counselor with Crisis Text Line allows me to engage in rewarding service work while I'm away from Seattle for clinical rotations. I love channeling my writing skills into supporting texters, and strengthening my crisis stabilization skills in the process.

I started late night volunteering at ROOTS, a local low-barrier shelter, to make the most of a semester off prior to the start of medical school. Connecting with shelter guests and learning their stories inspires me to be an outspoken advocate for equitable housing and healthcare services.
