MSTAR Fellow 2022

The Medical Student Training in Aging Research program (MSTAR)  is a national program that provides research training and mentorship for students interested in pursuing academic geriatrics. I worked  at the Puget Sound VA under the mentorship of Jose M. Garcia, MD, PhD.  My project addressed physical function related quality of life in patients undergoing androgen deprivation therapy for prostate cancer.

Youth Sport / Concussion Research Intern

Inspired by the concussions I witnessed as a contact sport athlete, I joined the lab of Emily G. Kroshus, ScD, MPH at Seattle Children's Research Institute. My work with Dr. Kroshus resulted in a first author publication that addressed athlete disclosure of concussion symptoms. I also contributed to literature reviews and on the field data collection.
